Convert Articles to Audio: News Bulletins for Publishers

Fynqcast editorial team5 min read

A newsroom publishes articles every day that many readers never have time to open. An audio bulletin reaches them while they drive, cook or walk, but it usually needs a voice, a studio and someone to record it at the same time every day. With Fynqcast you convert articles to audio starting from the texts you already have, and the bulletin uses only the facts you enter.

What you can do with Fynqcast

  • A category for news. FYNQ Studio has News & Briefing, with three formats: single news item, bulletin and statement. The duration runs from 30 seconds to 20 minutes, with one or two voices.
  • Only your facts. With Create with AI you paste the facts from your articles into Your information (the only source of facts). The text adds no news, data, quotes or sources you did not enter; if there are too few facts for the chosen length, it stays shorter instead of inventing.
  • A recognisable signature. At the Advanced level you set a fixed opening and a fixed closing, read word for word, the order of the news, the editorial angle, the register (institutional, informative or conversational) and the level of detail (headlines, summary or in depth).
  • Dates and sources under control. The reference date is said at the start. Sources are cited only if you turn on the dedicated option, and only the ones named in your information.
  • Your text, word for word. If the piece is already written for listening, paste it or upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file.
  • Other languages. With Translate and read you get the version in one of the eight audio languages, with a mandatory glossary and proper names to keep unchanged.
  • Files ready to publish: MP3, or WAV or M4A, plus SRT subtitles.

How it works

  1. Open Studio and choose News & Briefing, at the Simple or Advanced level.
  2. Fill in the brief: topic, your information, the Bulletin format, audience and reference date. At the Advanced level, add the fixed opening and closing and the order of the news.
  3. Set the language, maximum duration and voices, listening to a sample.
  4. Review and approve. Check names, dates and numbers. If one story doesn't sound right, rewrite just that part by saying how it should change. Nothing is generated until you approve the text.
  5. Generate, download and publish it yourself: on your website, in your newsletter, in your app or in the feed you already run. Today Fynqcast does not publish Studio productions to a feed and does not connect to your content management system: you upload the file.

An example: the morning bulletin of the Hollowmere Gazette

The paper and the stories are fictional. Every morning the Hollowmere Gazette newsroom prepares a bulletin of about two minutes, with one voice and a fixed opening and closing.

Your information (pasted by the newsroom):

Roadworks on the lake road from Monday 23 November, temporary traffic lights between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for two weeks. Hollowmere town council has approved the new rules for outdoor café seating. On Saturday the boat museum reopens after restoration, free entry for residents until the end of the year.

Fixed opening: "Good morning, this is the Hollowmere Gazette news." Fixed closing: "You'll find all the full stories on our website. Have a good day."

Excerpt of the text:

Good morning, this is the Hollowmere Gazette news. Roadworks start on the lake road on Monday the twenty-third of November: for two weeks, from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon, traffic lights will control the traffic. In town, the council has approved the new rules for outdoor café seating.

No detail beyond the information: if the newsroom wants to say how many tables are allowed, it has to put that in the brief.

Who it's for

  • Local and trade publications that want to offer a listening version of the day's news.
  • Press offices and public communications teams that prepare statements and updates in audio.
  • Corporate newsrooms and associations with internal bulletins for staff or members.

What changes: a fixed format that repeats every day, facts decided by the newsroom, and no audio generated without an approved text.

Frequently asked questions

Can the bulletin contain facts I did not write? Text created with Create with AI uses only the information in the brief and adds no news, data or quotes. It is still generated text: always check names, dates and numbers before approving it.

Can we read articles from other publications or news agencies? Use your own articles or texts you hold the rights to. Reading out another publication's content requires its permission.

Does the bulletin go out automatically to our feed? No. You download the file and publish it wherever you want. On transparency, the EU AI Act sets obligations for some AI-generated content: check with your adviser how to tell your audience.
